Transmitting Data Using Light

As the digital transformation is essential to every part of our society, needs for high-speed transceivers is set to continue, this is where Communications applications come to be. To illustrate, a staggering 90% of today’s data has been generated within the last three years [1]. We therefore emphasize achieving ultra-high-speed, premium-quality communication links, supporting symbol rates beyond 200 GBd.

At Polariton, we focus on next-generation optical transceivers and modulators that enable premium-quality data transmission, helping industries achieve low-latency, high-bandwidth communication. Our solutions are designed to power the backbone of modern communications, including:

  • Datacom: short-reach data center transceivers converting electrical signals to optical ones both inside the data center and between campuses.
  • Telecom: long-haul transceivers converting electrical signals to optical ones in long distance communications.
  • Wireless: 5G/6G transceivers at macro cell sites bringing the signal from the backhaul to the antennas.
  • Space and free-space optical (FSO) communication: optical links coping with the bandwidth demand of future and satellite-ground networks.

Key Communications applications

Datacom

Short-reach data center interconnects (DCI) that convert electrical signals to optical signals for seamless communication within data centers and across campuses.

Telecom

Long-haul optical transceivers engineered for long-distance communication networks, ensuring high-speed connectivity across regions and continents.

Space and free-space optical communication

Wireless (5G/6G) and Space Communications, From macro cell site transceivers that deliver backhaul signals to antennas for next-generation 5G/6G wireless infrastructure, to advanced free-space optical (FSO) links designed to handle the ever-growing bandwidth demands of satellite-to-ground and future interplanetary communication networks, our solutions ensure ultra-reliable, high-speed connectivity across terrestrial and space-based systems.
