Various papers demonstrate that, and come to the conclusion that he presence of oxygen deteriorates the electro-optic qualities of the otherwise transparent polymers. The deterioration of the material can be easily measured and related to an increase of the modulator V<sub>\u043f<\/sub>.<\/p>\n<p>At ECOC Polariton presents how oxygen presence stresses organic electro-optic material and how encapsulation reduces and eliminates the stress by means of long-term HTS and HTOL tests. Improved encapsulation eliminating the diffusion of oxygen into the active area also largely reduces the susceptibility to temperature and optical input power.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>W.
