“Plasmonic Modulators: Bringing a New Light to Silicon”

  • Invited Speaker: Claudia
  • Session: We.C.4 (Modulators and Neural Networks)
  • When: October 4th, 2023, 14:30 – 15:00
  • Abstract: Plasmonic modulators provide high speed and convenient integration on SiPh platforms. To confirm their commercial viability, we discuss process integration and show reliability data under operation achieving a stability within ±2.5% of V𝜋 in both low oxygen and air atmospheric conditions.

“Modulators for applications at 100 GHZ and beyond”

  • Invited Speaker: Stephan
  • Session: Product Focus theatre in the Exhibition Hall
  • When: October 4th, 2023, 15:00 – 15:30
  • Abstract: Polymers have been known for being a promising platform as EO materials since a long time. Research looks back at a decade of milestones achieved in terms of top speed, progress in terms of lower losses and long-term reliability. Commercialization of plasmonic devices has now progressed to the stage where test and measurement applications can profit from bandwidths well above 100 GHz and the leap into communications is foreseeable.

Radio over Fiber Link (80-125 GHz)

        Demo

Radio over Fiber Link (80-125 GHz)

Join us at ECOC 2023 for an exciting demonstration featuring our Mach-Zehnder Modulator. What’s special about it? We’ve got a packaged Mach-Zehnder Modulator (MZM) that packs a punch with its impressive electro-optical bandwidth. We’re going to crank things up to 125 GHz and demonstrate how it handles modulation at this frequency. This isn’t just about technical specs; it’s about real-world applications and how our technology can make a difference in high-speed data transmission. Don’t miss it!
Special thanks to Quantifi photonics and ETH Zürich.
